Leslie S. Rush is Wyoming Excellence Chair in Literacy Education and professor in the College of Education  at the University of Wyoming. Dr. Rush has received the University of Wyoming's John P. Ellbogen Meritorious Classroom Teaching Award and the Promoting Intellectual Engagement in the First Year Award. Her research interests include disciplinary literacy in English Language Arts and instructional methods for reading and writing instruction in English Language Arts classrooms. Dr. Rush taught high school English for twelve years in California, Texas, and East Africa before receiving her PhD in Reading Education at the University of Georgia. An active member of NCTE and the Literacy Research Association, Dr. Rush served as co-editor of the  journal English Education from 2010-2015 and was a member of the CEE Executive Committee for 2016-2020. Dr. Rush has published in Harvard Education Review, Reading Research and Instruction, Reading Online, The Rural Educator, and the Journal of  Literacy Research.
